Monday July 5th - A Trip to Elephant Lake Park
Our first Full day with Jennifer. We took a trip to a nearby park. A nice lake surrounded by some beautiful scenery.

Jennifer Kaitlyn Lugo - Finally "Gotcha" after 4 1/2 years
It was around 3:00 pm we got a call that Jennifer was down in the lobby. The Lobby was packed with other families waiting for their children.

Sunday July 4th - Gotcha Day
Today we fly to Nanchang. The only thing we have scheduled for today is Jennifer being delivered to us by the Civil Affairs Office. Better than a Fedex package with air holes.

End of the 3rd Day
We found out today that we would be getting Jennifer Kaitlyn (Gan Xingchen) on Sunday July 4th, instead of Monday July 5th.
Day 3 - Tour 3 - The Great Wall
The temperature had reached 104 degrees with the heat Index. Were we going to climb the whole thing? Nope! Not without some icy cold water, which we found in one shop at the base of the wall. But with it being so hot we only went up half way. At least I can say we went and we climbed it, at least a little bit of it.

Day 1
Well, day 1 technically started on June 30th. Rather than driving to Bush Airport at 3:00 am to catch a 6:30 am flight, we decided to spend the night at the Airport Marriott. Considering that I won't be getting any sleep, the more sleep the better.
Day 2
The long excursion - 3 1/2 hour flight to San Francisco, a 3 hour layover, and the long 12 hour flight to Beijing. To the right is a picture from the window of the plane on the San Francisco to Beijing leg. What made it harder to sleep was that the whole 12 hour flight was daylight all the way. we were basically chasing the sun. We landed in Beijing at around 3:00 pm and were met by our Great Wall China Adoption Guide, Michelle to get us to the hotel for some much needed sleep. Unfortunately the beds were rock hard and sleep was difficult

Jennifer Kaitlyn
Our Trip starts on July 1st. We hang out in San Francisco for a few hours and then we fly to Beijing and arrive on July 2nd.
We probably will catch a few hours of sleep since we probably won't sleep much on the plane
